Away Report: | This match was a mirror into the soul of the priory (sorry, North West Kent) League. With most of the Bromley players seemingly team-tied to the 3rd team, Knole prepared for a relatively easy ride; only to find that the Bromley 3rd team was unravelling fast.
Knole's own 1st team players would have been eligible, thanks to the walkover by BCC 3 on the previous night. However,in the spirit of fair play, Jolly John selected only those players that he expected to have a good match against their Bromley oppo.
BCC Captain Paul, for his part, had compensated by leaving out the entire McMeckan family, and by giving a couple of youngsters a run out (Kevin & Samuel).
It therefore proved a very enjoyable tie, and the spirit of the Priory was upheld. The match went down to the wire, with a nervous Tom just prevailing over a gallant Kevin.
Thanks, Bromley, and see you next season - somewhere no doubt. |
