Report: | The summer season kicked off with PL entertaining Bexley and sporting the results of the manager's dip into the transfer market.
A good hard thrash at no.1 with Duane wellying the ball to all corners in trademark fashion. Zeb had an awful lot of chasing around to do, but a combination of relative youth, mobility and variation did the trick. Duane would feel a bit aggrieved not to have got a game out of this one though.
No.2 was a bit unfortunate. Despite not seeing any of it, Gina seems to have started well, got to 6-2 up in the 2nd at which point Mark felt his leg "ping". End of proceedings, and looking like a(nother) lengthy break required.
No.3: Christian always doing enough to stay ahead (and totally controlled the 2nd). First was pretty close, and 3rd very tight all the way, with copious quantities of unclaimed game/match balls by both parties before Christian snuck it.
No.4 saw Billy putting up a valiant fight and actually winning more points than Matt. Despite this, the odd numbered games did for him, but picking up those games swung the match.
Good after match entertainment as ever with Bexley, discussing Duane's forthcoming fitness charge and healthy diet, a three pronged assault on the B.Open Masters events, and Lewy's ability to play good (better) squash or racketball under the influence of vast quantities of alcohol. |
