Matt & Mark were on first, thought this might be tough one as Matt had cycles across the French Alps to get there!! What I saw of the match it was all nip and tuck with some great touch play. Matt came through in the end.
Danny and Ray on the other court, from the off Ray was not on his normal game, ordinarily my money would have been on Ray but Danny played great squash with some excellent front of court play took the match comfortable fighting off a last stand by Ray.
John & Andy next, this promised to be a great match…. a bit of argie-bargie going on initially which sort of set the tone, both players moving and playing well with Johns game frustrating Andy a lot. After two games it was 1-1 with John coming back from 1-8 down in the second, The third settled down to some great squash but Andy pulled a hamstring and had to retire. match to John.
Stew & Ken, with both players striking the ball really well this was a high pace match with Stew getting a great win.
Andy & Rich, Andy started slow with Rich taking the first, in the second Andy settled down making this a closer game but Rich nicking it 10-8, as normal Andy ran out steam to a much fitter player.
