| Report: | Vice-cap at the helm last night. A good competitive match as Tim finessed his team selection to suit.
Mark v Tim. Looked pretty cold on court as the PL heaters didn't work for the 4,744th day out of 4,745 days since the the club was refurbished (only roughly folks). Good match from the bit I saw, with Mark covering a lot of ground as usual and Tim putting in the usual round of accuracy.
Author v Lauren. This was a good competitive match. Same result as normal, but all of the games were tight. The author made the mistake of pushing a few too many high cross courts onto Lauren's volleys, many of which were dispatched for winners.
Hany v Steve. Hany looks like he'd rather be anywhere than a squash court atm and struggled not to let frustration get the better of him again. Steve kept his head down and did the required job.
Jack v Andrew. This was very unfortunate as Andrew injured a glute at 2-1 in the 1st game. After an injury break he struggled on until 8-6 and then had to call it a day.
Last up Paul v Antonio. Didn't see a lot of this, but as usual with Paul, prodigious quantities of running were involved. Just seemed to lose his way a bit in the 5th, with Antonio finishing off in style with some good winners, notably on match ball.
Pretty full house in the bar afterwards, and now that the financial secretary was back in harness the slate took on more normal looking proportions after nearly leading to a run on the banks a couple of weeks ago in his absence! |
