Report

Report:Another win for Bromley CC tonight in a closely fought contest vs Limpsfield.

1st up was Ross vs Adam. Ross with his baseball cap on backwards and the wooly long shorts looking as casual as ever in the knock up, however once the game got going he was lively and sharp.
With baby number 2 overdue by over 5 days, Ross took all his anger out of that little black rubber ball and took the match 3-0.
Well done Rossman !

On the 2nd court Sam took on Phoebe in what ended up being a 3-1 win to Sam.
The power of Sam and court coverage too much for the technically gifted 16 year old Phoebe. Give it a few years and I can see this being a very different story but for now a good win for Sam.

Kev vs Pete was next up on court and it was a pretty one sided affair with Pete playing very clever squash hitting accurate lengths and widths and Kevin playing pretty stupid squash getting bored with playing proper squash and rallies and taking on winning shots that quite frankly weren't even there.
3-0 to Pete and a firm talking to himself for Kev.

So with Bromley 2-1 up there was a chance for Richard Hungate to win the match for Bromley in his 1st appearance for the 4ths this season.
Rob was his opponent and he was fighting his hardest to keep Limpsfield in the match.

Rich started off well and took the 1st for Rob then to fire back 1-1. Rich took the next one only for Rob to bring it back to 2-2.
With Richard bent over on the stairs telling me as I walked past him "I was f**ked, Ive saved my energy for this game though"........ I wasn't convinced.
However Rich stormed ahead and definitely showed he had more energy left out of the 2 players.
He took the decider 9-2 thus winning the match for Bromley before the number 1 seeds could even step foot on court.
Well done Rich - DREAMTEAM STAR MAN - HUNGATE !

The final match was between Tony and James and it was full of quality. James covering the court so well to Tony's frustration and the 1st game over relatively quick with James taking it 9-2.

It looked like this would be a straight forward 3-0 to James, however Tony dug deep and with the years of experience he had over the young whipper snapper James, took the next game 9-5 playing some lovely squash.
The next game had a ton of handouts and James edged it 9-5.
The 4th game saw a rampant James take a 8-0 lead playing some really impressive stuff. Tony again dug deep and won the next 3 points but playing his 3rd game in as many days and with the quality of James, it was all too much and James took the 4th 9-3. A very deserved winner.
You will struggle to find a better quality of match in div 6 than that. Well done James.

Good win overall for Bromley, well played Limpsfield. See u next time at your gaff.
We look forward to the chips with chips ! :-D
