Proceedings were opened with a good win 3-1 for Dave Ellin over Bromley's captain Kevin Gimenez, but Bromley quickly equalised when Sam Warnett overcame Meir Mizrahi by the same score. Bromley's Paul Roberts put in a strong performance to defeat Rob Rowe, before the match of the evening took place on court 1: young Zachary Bhana earned his maiden victory for Bexley with a fine performance in which he outlasted Richard Hungate and secured a 3-2 win to level the match at two games each. The stage was set for a grandstand finish, with each team's respective No.1s battling it out for the team victory. Unfortunately for Bexley the cliffhanger finish did not materialise - Bromley's Tony Davies produced a faultless performance and was too strong on the night for Nanu Bhana, who fought hard but was overwhelmed and Bromley wrapped up the match 3-2.
