Report

Report: This match saw a 2nd placed Wells travel to face 3rd placed Bromley in an all important match at the top end of the league.

1st up on court 3 was Ross and Ben. Ross dominating the 1st game for Ben to fight back in the 2nd to bring it back to 1-1.
Ross gave away a few unusual strokes to Ben but still managed to see the game out 3-1 winning the 4th game on a tie break. Well done Ross.

Kevin and Mark took to the court at the same time to begin their rematch of the 1st period and it pretty much started the same was as their 1st match did.
Mark flying in to a 6-0 lead. Kevin managed to fight back to 6-6 but Mark took the next 3 points to win the important 1st.
Pretty comfortable for Mark after that as he won the next 2 games to win 3-0. Well done Mark.

Paul Roberts and Elliot Webster were up next and Paul got off to a great start. Some lovely forehand drives and boasts were helping him rack up the points. 1-0 Paul.

In to the 2nd game and at one stage it looked as if Paul was getting a helping hand from what seemed to be some invisible flies attacking Elliot and his racket. 2 air swipes in 1 point back to back followed by another directly after the serve had the gallery in fits of laughter. Division 6 at its best !!

Elliot seemed to ignore the imaginary flies to fight back and take the 2nd game with Paul taking the 3rd.
Elliot took the 4th to set up a nail biting 5th game decider. It wasn't nail biting in the end as Paul ran out of steam and Elliot took the game 9-0 and the match 3-2.

1st seeds Tony and Nick were up next and with Bromley 2-1 down it was a massive game. Tony did not disappoint and won this game comfortably 3-0 playing some tight accurate and clever squash to take the tie to 2-2.

The deciding match saw Sam Warnett and Chris Clear lock horns. Winner takes all !

Chris got off to a flyer and took the 1st 9-4. Sam fighting back in the 2nd but still losing 7-9. Chris was in pole position to win the tie for Wells but Sam was in no mood to give up.
He took the next 2 games both 9-7 ! It couldn't be tighter. 2-2 in games and in matches.

Sam was in no mood to lose this and played out of his skin in the last and took it comfortably 9-3 to win the match for Bromley. A great win for him and for the team.

A good laugh in the bar after about Elliot's fly squatting had by all along with some nice food and drink. Good set of lads the Wells. See u again soon.

MAN OF THE MATCH...... SAM WARNETTOOOOO !
