| Report: | Do I need to discuss the squash or shall I just move straight to the best part of the evening - the flapjacks??!! I guess squash should get a mention as it is what brought us all together. Claire and Jane had a very enjoyable game, with a very tightly fought second game, but Claire found a string of good serves in the third which secured her the victory. Unfortunately for Rachel Emily was on top form this evening and continues to go from strength to strength. Jan and Andreas was the match of the evening with some great squash being played. Jan's lobs and drops were perfectly executed and the game could have gone either way, but Andrea's patience and choice of shot proved vital in her securing the win. Sue played well in the first game and took advantage of an unusually slow start by Sharon, but Sharon regained her form after than, struck the ball well and went on to win. The company afterwards was excellent and as I mentioned earlier Andrea's flapjacks won 'best in show'!! On a serious note Mote Ladies were thrilled that Jan had not yet fled to pastures new so that we could have the pleasure of her company one more time. We would all very much like to wish her the very best with her move, hope that she keeps in touch and just to let her know that she will be sorely missed by us. |
