Report:Blonde Bombshell Fails To Inspire BCC

Back from the joys of parenthood, Keeley made an unexpected return to top flight squash Tuesday night.
However her glamour failed to inspire the BCC boys to victory giving Bexley their 2nd win of the season.

Blonde Bombshell Vs Welsh Markbit (No 5)

New boy Mark took on Keeley at 5. The Loughborough student had some neat touches around the front of the court; however his lack of composure at vital points eventually proved to be his downfall.
Looking at Keeley, you wouldn't have thought that she had given birth so recently. She looked like she'd never been away from the game. Her retrieving was back to its best and she used all her tactical nous to outwit Mark in the first.
Long rallies followed in the second, with Mark getting increasingly frustrated with Keeleys' dogged determination. Rob was heard to say on several occasions 'Another Racquet Thrower in the Team - Great!'
Mark began to fight back in the 3rd, reducing Keeley's lead from 7-0 to 7-5 in no time at all.
However Keeley held on and gave BCC their first rubber win of the season.
A quick mention also for King Lewy, who seems to have reacted like a man to the verbal volley he received from El Capitano at the end of last season. He jumped at the chance to mark this one. (Let's just hope it wasn't only because Keeley was playing)

Dutch Prodigy Vs Badger (No 2)

Having played all weekend in the A league tournament, (Plate RUP) Dutch Prodigy was looking trim and ready to fight against is old Uni chum. He did however have an early case of Pre-Match JT (nerves). His rather fetching Brown suit jacket had sick all over the shoulder.
(He later claimed that he had been sick whilst on a night out on Saturday!)
This was an excellent game to watch with both players playing extremely well. Dutch Prodigy was pushing the much improved Badger all the way, and he looked like he had the first in the bag. However he didn't reckon with Badgers' fighting spirit who stormed back to take the first 9-7.
Dutch Prodigy looked dead and buried in the second as he went 7-1 down. However this seemed to galvanise him and he fought back taking the game 9-7 and levelling the match at 1-1.
The nxt two games went the way of Badger, as Dutch Prodigy began to suffer from stiffness around the lower half of his body. Badger was clinical in closing out the match, not allowing Dutch Prodigy a whiff of a chance.

JT Vs Rob Lewis (No 4)

At the end of last season, these 2 players battled out a 3-2 match in favour of Rob.
BCC needed a turn around to get back in the match, (especially as El Capitano was bound to lose). The match last week suggested that JT had banished his pre-game nerves and was looking mentally rejuvenated.
El Capitano missed this game, but yet again JT suffered another loss. Rob was keen to make sure that he wasn't the first player to lose to JT.
He's doing all the right things. Paying subs first, providing lifts everywhere, he just can't seem to buy a win. He has however been promised that when (IF) he wins he will be able to write (well contribute - he's not taking away my glory) the match report.

El Capitano Vs Steve Falla (No 3)

Fully recovered from his victorious NIKE 10K Run, El Capitano was looking to transfer his form to squash. Up against Steve who just seems to run all night, this was going to be a hard task.
The adrenalin was pumping at the start as El Capitano dominated the T, and forced Steve around the back of the court. But at 7-1 up, the wheels came well and truly off the track.
Steve began to find his range and take advantage of El Capitanos' cut-line drops from the back of the court. He stormed back taking the 1st 9-7 and then taking the 2nd 9-0.
El Capitano had no answer as usual as Steve peppered the nick with a series of backhand drops.
Only a slight revival in the 3rd prevented a complete and utter whitewash.
So for the 2nd week on the trot El Capitano lost 3-0 to a Steve. The only positive was that El Capitano actually enjoyed the match, and is now looking forward to putting in a serious amount of training before their rematch in the New Year.

Bexley 3-1

King Lewy Vs Paul (No 1)

Just when you thought Bexley couldn't be any stronger, they suddenly find a new number 1.
For the first 7pts Paul was awesome, King Lewy had no answer, however a slight slip by Paul allowed Lewy back into the game.
It was clear however that Paul had felt a twinge in his Achilles, and was in no real state to carry on. Match by default to King Lewy.

Despite another defeat for BCC, the 7pts were much needed in their quest for survival.
Two points to end on though.
1. They may struggle all season, but without doubt they serve the best food in all the leagues. That alone should be worth 20pts.
2. A special mention to BCC No 3, and brother to El Capitano. Just in case you weren't aware Handsome James managed to beat Bexley No2 Mark Steeden 3-2 in the A Tournament at Bexley on Saturday. So not a single Bexley player made it to the SF, despite most of their players receiving a seeding, and having home court advantage. Just shows what BCC could do if they had their full strength team out each week.
