Report

Report:Seconds out, round 2.
Off down the A2 into the heartland of Kent, home of 'Big Burping Gay Bob' and his merry lads we call Cascades.
First up-Laney v Big Burping Gay Bob.
BBGB in at 4 left me thinking 'Christ who have they got at 5 !'but no it was just a dodgy team change.
What a specticle this one was with Laney still searching for his ultimate fitness level and BBGB unconcerned about such trivial matters. Needless to say this one was over very quickly with a straight forward 3 zip to Laney, all that was quicker was BBGB's grasp of his first 1664.
Debt collector v Mike
Started off as a pretty straight forward affair with D.C. picking up the first 2 games by rallying out waitng for mistakes to happen on Mikes backhand (Sorry Mike, remembered this from last time) Mike being the nice guy he is duly came up trumps, but then as sometimes happens with weak minded people he was seduced by the dark side and banged away 8 straight winners from all parts of the court taking the 3rd 9-6. Into the forth and D.C. changed tactics forcing the pace which did the trick and a 3-1 victory gratefully accepted.
Tip Top Toby v Mo
TTT always in control with this one but that said Mo played his part in several fine rallies which went both ways. The big difference here was after each long hard rally TTT would keep asking Mo to come up with the same high quality squash in the following points by playing very accurate, tight shots which Mo in the main could not respond to. Good game to watch with TTT coming away with a 3-0 win.
Might Mac v Tony
M.M. alawys looked in control,2-0 up but you guessed it, another twist in the tail as only Gordon can script. Straight forward winners started to hit the tin, pick ups which looked good to all watching were called as dodgy by honest Mac and finally at 5-2 up in the forth ,halfway through the rally Gordon catches the ball, checks its ok,throws it to Tony and says 'hmm thought it was gone' and promptly loses the next 7 points. No need to panic, order is restored in the 5th and a 2nd 3-2 win in 2 weeks.
Artful Alex v Stu
With 'A Good Few Beers' Lennox Nursing a few bad Hamstrings after his stupid itinery last Saturday (4 games in one day, the 4th being TTT) Debt Collector not happy with this state of affairs as he warned AGFB this would happen.Reserve number 2 Alex was brought in to face Stu. Alex complaining at the start with painful blisters on his racket hand has doubts whether he can get a result but with everybody on the balcony including the Cascades lads assuring him this will not be a problem against Stu he is encouraged to press on as the bar is beckoning by now.
The balcony were right and a swift 3-0 is notched up.A good start for Alex and I feel a lot more to come from this lad once the hand is healed.
A good result for the Hill and a good laugh with the Cascades boys as always.
