Report:Lucky 13 For JT, But BCC Crash Again

JT recorded his first victory in 13 outings on Tuesday night up at Park Langley. However it wasn't enough as BCC slipped to their 3rd defeat of the season.

Pratt Vs Dutch Prodigy (No2)

Pratt turned up half an hour early for this game, in tow were his brother and girlfriend to cheer him on. (cheer him up more like!)
This was a strange old game to watch and mark. Pratt was awful in the first whilst Dutch Prodigy was on fine form after his lengthy training session the previous night. A string of errors from Pratt, coupled with some attacking play from Dutch Prodigy gave BCC the first 9-1.
Roles were reversed in the 2nd as Pratt began to calm down his hitting, and stopped arguing with the marker. 1-1
EL Capitano missed the remainder of the match, but according to JT 'THE WINNER', Dutch Prodigy really should have won this match, however he played too much into the hands of Pratt, waiting for mistakes instead of attacking at every opportunity. In the fifth Dutch Prodigy mounted a spirited fightback, but it was a little too late.
Afterwards, Dutch Prodigy spoke to reporters:
"I just couldn't get any rhythm going, such an awkward player to play against. He doesn't know where he's going to hit from point to point".
Pratts' girlfriend didn't seem to care, she was just happy that he won. And off they ran to their new home, without even a word of goodbye.

Kevin V Big Andy (No5)

Called upon for the last time this season, Big Andy was up against a new look Kevin.
El Capitano remembers playing Kevin about 7yrs ago when he had long curly hair, he now has a skinhead, and two bandages around his knees. How times have changed!!
Big Andy looked bigger than normal and claimed to be not feeling 100%. His stomach looked like he had eaten a cardboard box, however he said it was his lunch which hadn't digested properly. B***ocks!! I still say it was a cardboard box!

This one was over in a flash as Big Andy struggled to see over his cardboard box. Too many loose shots and too much skill from Kevin (who clearly should be playing at a much higher level!) meant this was over in next to no time.

Adam Vs EL Capitano (No3)

El Capitano was fortunate to face an out of form Adam. Looking for his first win of the season, he was almost handed it on a plate.
All Adam could hit in the first was the tin. El Capitano tried to out do him in the 2nd. 1-1
Long rallies, some awful squash, and some even worse serving somehow put El Capitano out in front. I would love to say he closed out the game with a series of volley nicks, but I would be lying.
Adam put a string of returns in the tin, and El Capitano had won.
Nosebleed territory for El Capitano. Take note though, EL Cap is BACK.

Clive London Vs King Lewy (No1)

Correspondent missed most of this game as he was trying to play on the other court.
Clive seemed to be running away with it early doors, as he took the first comfortably, he had the 2nd in the bag, but King Lewy began to change his tactics, going for more winners instead of trying to rally Clive.
Some awesome squash followed along with some great rallies. King Lewy was back to his best as he took the 3rd. It looked like he was going to take the 4th as he went 6-0 up. Clive though is playing some great squash at the moment, and dug real deep to come back and close out the match. For someone who is 50, Clive is a remarkable athelete. El Capitano informed King Lewy that Clive was 50, (just to rub salt into the wound). "He doesn't look it, but his bag certainly does" replied King Lewy.
It's been said before that his bag looks older than him, mnaybe if his son/wife is reading this they could club together for a new bag this xmas.

The match was already over, but JT still had his match to play.

Andy 'I was the guy who lost to JT' Bonner Vs JT (No4)

It's common knowledge across the league that JT hasn't won in 12 previous outings for BCC, well tonight on the 17th Oct 2006, the duck was finally broken - at the 13th attempt.
Andy certainly doesn't deserve to be the guy who is now going to get all the stick.
Clearly nervous from the off, JT was loose with his drops and drives. Andy did his best in the first to lose the game as he squandered a 8-2 lead. However he closed out the 1st 10-8.
After some coaching tips from El Capitano, (yes coaching tips) JT slowed his game down and began to rally Andy around, rather than hitting it at 100mph. The slower pace caught Andy out and JT levelled the match. More of the same please JT.
A 6-0 lead was blown as JT resorted back to old habits and began thrashing the ball around only to find Andy's volleys in fine form. 2-1 down and staring down the barrel of another defeat.
El Capitano used his magic and physcology (no spell check) to wind JT up before the 4th.
What a 4th it was, one of the most nerve racking games ever. JT blew chance after chance as Andy slowly wittled the lead down. Countless times he had opportunities to win the game, but countless times he would play the wrong shot. At 8-7, with Andy floundering at the back, JT conspired to put his normally reliable drop into the tin.
At 8-8, an audacious bit of luck for JT, a straight drive smacked off the corner of the front wall, wrong footing Andy and giving JT the impeteus (no spell check again) to take the 4th.
With that game in the bag and Andy struggling with cramp, JT composed himself and built an early lead in the 5th. At 7-1 to JT, it looked like JT was going to be robbed of his win, as Andy pulled up with cramp. (Don't count if you win by default). A quick rub and Andy was away again, didn't matter though as JT finally kicked the monkey of his back and won.

Another close defeat for the BCC boys, but the main positives were that King Lewy looked to be finding his form. Dutch Prodigy is more than holding his own at 2, El Capitano is BACK, JT is now on a 1 game winning streak, and Big Andy can no longer turn out for the 1st team.
