Report

Report:A re jigged line up put out on the Hill this week. A Good Few Beers thought he would try the Benitez theory on squad rotation which seemed to be an inspired decision until the Debt Collector got a good kicking, I now think it was plain stupid!

First up.
TTT Rent Boy v The Hammer.
Things looked ominous for Ian when Toby turned up actually looking awake and part of this world. The lads playing for Limpsfield on Monday will know what I mean. Didn't see a single shot of this match as I was on the other court. All I do know is it was done & dusted very quickly as I was only half way through my second game when this one finished. Ian Didn't want to talk about it and I certainly wasn't going to ask Rent Boy as I was keen to enjoy the evening!

Debt Collector v The Teacher
Martin seems to drift in and out of playing for BLT but I had seen enough of him in the past to know this would be a tough scrap. First game was a close affair but to many unforced errors by DC meant Martin took it 9-7. Second game was a different affair with the Teacher handing out a master class on how to hit winners from all parts of the court, 9-3. Into the third and all very close at 5 each when Keith Palmer came to my aid from the balcony half way through a rally to advise me of a double bounce on my part, only trouble was AGFB was marking and along with Martin & myself didn't Know what he was talking about.Still, thanks Keith for putting us all straight on that!
The Teacher duly closed this one out 9-6. Here endith the lesson.

The 'Godfather' Verlander v Tubby Tel
Didn't see this one as I was being given a hundred lines, detention and extra homework by the Teacher after my poor performance but I was told by the Godfather that he simply moved Tubby Tel from one corner to the other with ease and a high degree of skill and with the baby due in a couple weeks Tubby Tel didn't want to take any chances. Tubby Tel said he had a bad back (that often happens with pregnancy Tel)

Jack v Even Tubbier Ron
Jack with his young legs and Ron with no legs (Douglas Bader made a living out of it but he didn't play squash) meant that this one was only going to go one way. The pattern was the same throughout with Ron playing lots of good quality working rallies for the the first half of each game only for Jack to run shots down and eventually to close out each game with his superior fitness level. A good game to watch and mark with Jack coming out a 3-0 winner.

A Good Few Beers v The Second Umpire
After last weeks close scrap in the cup this promised to be another close affair but to be honest turned out to be an anti climax. A weeks solid rest for the dodgy hamstring meant a free moving AGFB seemed to have all the answers to Keiths shots this week, that and the tempo of the whole game being that much quicker seemed to work in AGFB favour. A comfortable 3-0 win.

Some would say a 17-3 win is a good result for the Hill but with the Deb Collector taking more flak than a Lancaster over Berlin it dosn't bloody feel like it !!
