| Report: | Last home match this summer period for Bromley CC and it was Nuffield the visitors who were turning up to try and halt Bromley's charge to the title.
1st up on court was Ross vs Paul and it was Paul who was the liveliest to start with. I put it down to the 20 mins solo practice he had on court waiting for Ross.
Ross very sluggish and Paul hitting some lovely tight drops.
It was Paul who took the 1st 2 games 5-9 and 6-9.
Paul however seemed to tire and Ross found his range and was able to hit wide enough to pass the large wingspan of Paul.
Ross took the next 2 games to take it in to decider and there was only going to be one winner as Paul was dead on his feet and Ross looking sharp. 3-2 to Ross. Great game and yet another 3-2 win for the marathon man Rossman ! 1-0 Bromley.
Meanwhile on the next court it was a battle of the vetrans Paul Roberts and Peter Young.
Some nice winners played by both players in this encounter but Paul had too much for Peter movement wise and when Paul delayed and hit wide enough Peter just couldnt return the ball.
3-0 to Paul and Bromley 2-0 up on the night.
Up next was Giles and Guy. The 1st game a real tight affair with the Tinman Giles living up to his name but just scrapping through 10-9.
The 2nd Giles started to get his accuracy levels up and was keeping Guy moving way too much. 9-5 Giles.
The 3rd game would indeed become the final game as Giles coasted to a 9-1 win taking the match 3-0 and putting Bromley 3-0 up with the win guaranteed.
Number 1 seeds Tony and Darren up next and Tony started superbly using his lobs to perfection to put Darren on the back foot. 9-2 Tony.
Darren made the 2nd game a much more tight affair and won some key points after some long rallies, however Tony saw the game out 9-7.
The 3rd game saw Tony keep his focus and take it 9-4 meaning another 3-0 win for Bromley.
Well played Tony who finishes this summer season unbeaten in all matches.
Finally to try and secure the 5-0 win was Sam vs Dave.
Dave started really well and was killing Sam off with some superb hard boasts.
Sam threw in a few trademark drop lobs to help Dave take the 1st 7-9.
Sam though got his act together and started to cover the court much better to Dave's frustration. The reply was 9-1 to Sam.
Sam carried on his dominance and took the next 2 games 9-4 and 9-3 to cap off a good win for him and 5-0 win for Bromley who now only need 4 points from their last game to secure the title assuming Wells take maximum points from their last 2 games.
