Report:Park Langley Hit For 4

BCC recorded their 4th victory on the spin Tuesday night, and rocketed up to 3rd place (pending other results) in the league. A far cry from the early stages of the season, where 4 defeats on the trot had left the team in disarray.

Having roped in Jimmy Robbins last week, BCC were keen not to take Park Langley 2 lightly. Turkish decided to motivate the team with some Phil Collins’ classics on the journey to the game, whilst Batman retold tales from his previous nights exploits, saving the world.

King Lewy Vs David Harris (No1)

Changed man is King Lewy. This season he has risen to the cause, marking at every opportunity and putting in battling displays at No.1. Tonight’s eagerly anticipated match against David was no different. A whole host of players opted out of marking this one, what with David’s reputation as a bit of a marker basher, and his entourage glaring from the galleries. – Nothing fazes Batman though!
El Capitano missed the first two evenly contested games as he was handing out a lesson to John on the adjacent court. The 3rd game was a classic affair with both players playing some great squash. King Lewy was tight with his backhand whilst David's flicks around the front were a delight to watch. King Lewy wore David down though, with his never say die attitude, and some deceptive cross courts. King Lewy held on to go 2-1 up.
David’s entourage tried to galvanise their Numero uno, but it looked like the battle in the 3rd had taken it out of him. He struggled to raise his game, and at times looked uninterested. King Lewy surged to victory and put BCC 1-0 to the good. ‘The King Is Back!’ After that victory, King Lewy was given the evening off, and relieved of all marking duties.

El Capitano Vs John Miles (No3)

El Capitano was in fighting mood, particularly after John mistakenly took him for Handsome James, his younger uglier brother. Despite feeling slightly dizzy in the earlier exchanges, El Capitano found his width and power. A dominant display in the 1st was marred only by some erratic marking from JT. The next was a procession as El Capitano reeled off winner after winner going 2-0 up in the space of 5mins.
John showed some brief resistance towards the end of the 3rd, but it was too little too late. Another resounding win for a resurgent El Capitano who has now dropped only 12pts in the last 2 matches.

BCC 2-0

Turkish Vs Nick Wise (No4)
Batman Vs Andy Blackman (No2)

For all you devoted followers, I apologise for the lack of reports on the next two matches.
Having finished first for once, El Capitano took a leaf out of King Lewys’ OLD book, and headed straight for the showers. He was promptly joined by King Lewy in the showers, and together they came up with 47 different ways to style El Capitanos’ hair. Needless to say El Capitano missed the two matches, and hence can only go on information provided by unnamed sources.

An unnamed source close to Turkish said ‘An impressive performance from Turkish, however his ankle seemed to be playing up, and it wasn’t helped by the slippery courts. BCC did have some amateur workmen in earlier in the season, who refitted the lights and swept the courts. I think we need a word with them!’

A source not too close to Batman (his clothes still stink) said ‘F**King Awesome Performance from Batman, he was flying around the court, killing everything.’

Two more resounding victories, 4-0 up maximum points, Arsenal 3-1 up and Manure losing to Celtic, the night couldn’t get any better.

And it didn’t!!

JT Vs Kevin Kimber (No5)

Turkish was off fixing a faulty shower in the men’s changing rooms, Batman was showing off his Batman chest hair to the bar girl, whilst King Lewy was chatting up some 47 yr olds at the bar, so the marking of this exciting match was left to El Capitano.

The last couple of weeks, JT has had to raise his motivation levels, going on last against fairly weak opponents. This match posed some very different questions for JT. Kevin called upon at the 11th hour used as many tricks as possible to ruffle JT, calling a let at every point, arguing every decision, and generally preventing the game from flowing. JT kept his focus in the 1st and won comfortably. Before going out in the 2nd El Capitano tried some words of wisdom for JT, but it was clear that he was suffering from a severe headache, one that words of advice would not help.
Kevin provided everyone concerned with a headache, as his strong gamesmanship pulled him level at 1-1. He then raced into a 6-1 lead, but his attitude only made JT even more determined. JT battled back with his customary tight squash and hard hitting and held on to go 2-1 up.
The 4th game can only be described as a farce. A series of decisions went against Kevin, and he couldn’t cope. The final straw was a let decision because Kevin had called the marker ‘F**King Bias’ mid – rally. Kev walked off, JT had another victory. BCC had 20pts – Job done.
