Report

Report:No chance of an ambush tonight from the boys at Langley Towers, as Hand Jive being the good guy he is tipped us off that James Robbins would be making another appearence against the Hill (What a good example of a decent captain. Take note Blackman !!)
So no ambush but plenty of high drama anyway.

Debt Collector v Kevin
This one started in a scrappy manner with Kev looking for quick winners and DC concentrating more on line/length, either way be both couldn't stop finding the tin. DC knickes it 9-7. Second and third games saw DC cut the errors out and retrieving most of Kevs attacks at the front. This in most cases resulted in errors from Kev as he attempted even tighter winners. Result, a comfortable 3-0 win for DC.

Mighty Mac v Adam
Didn't see a great deal of this one but what I did see was a nip & tuck affair with Adam using the boast well to wrong foot the Mac on several occasions.Adam got to 2-1 up in the main by playing steady squash letting the Mac make the errors. I say in the main as one rally was ended by Adam in a pretty relaxed manner by playing a shot from behind his back straight into the forhand nick. No apology from Adam,No reaction from Mac !
Forth and fifth saw the game turn in what is now a fairly predictable manner with Mighty Mac upping the anti without the errors to win the last two comfortably.

Alex v Steve
With 'A Good Few Beers' buggering off to paradise to get married rather than doing the right thing, it was down to Alex to keep things in order at two.
This he certainly did in some style, not letting Steve get any sort of consistency. Always in control Alex run out a straight forward 3-0 winner.
(Well done with your acceptance into the fire service steve, hope it goes well mate)

Laney v Andy
Apart from a little wobble in the second, the predictably rip snorting Laney took no prisoners in this one taking everything about half a second after Andy had played his shot with the usual devestating affect. 3-0 to the big fella.

TTT Rent Boy v James
With Hand Jive giving me a few days notice of James playing, DC started work early on Rent Boy to get his head round getting something out of this one. Rent Boy taking note of some good solid advice promptly trotted off to North London and got soundly bladdered over the weekend, but come Tuesday night the boy was up for it.
First game saw Rent Boy keeping things tight forcing James into the back corners allowing Rent Boy to control the early rallies. First game over double quick with Rent Boy taking it 9-1. Second game again started as the first with Rent Boy going to 7-1 in quick time before James finaly started to kick into gear making the the rallies longer and faster and putting pressure back onto Rent Boy. After several hand outs either way Rent Boy absorbed the pressure well to take the second 9-1.
With James looking strong at the end of the second, I think most of the gallery including myself assumed the comeback would be inevitable. Not so, credit to Rent Boy here as the finish line drew nearer he didn't panic and carried on playing extremly disciplined squash resulting in what has to be said was a comfortable 3-0 win.
If I hadn't have seen it I wouldn't have believed it especially after watching their first match two weeks ago.

So a good solid night for the Hill with Rent Boy spending the rest of the evening explaining to Hand Jive and Slack how EXACTLY his game went over the phone !
