Report

Report:Scouts were sent out early from the hill towards the Tunbridge Wells area to see if there were any suprises awaitng us before the main body went in. Indeed the news was not good, a new addition had been added by Streelife just moments before Zero hour. A tough night was in store (as it turned out just for the DC-read on)
First up Debt Collector v Steve
Both players started pretty well in the first with lots of long working rallies and few mistakes on a very warm court, Steve finally nicking it 10-9 after 35 mins. Second game went exactly as the first except DC reversed the score 10-9. 1 hour gone & 2 games played. Into the 3rd and a freak accident for the DC. Moving in to make a forehand drop and the ankle gave way leaving a soggy sprawling mess on the floor in a lot of pain howling like a dog on heat. After a 10 minute break DC carried on but never got his head back into it and went down in a pretty straight forward manner 3-1. Shame as we both agreed this was going to be a good one.

A Good Few Beers v Paul
Didn't see any of this one (see above) but I am told by Paul and AGFB that this was a very average game with both players under performing and disapointed with their form. 3-0 to AGFB (Sorry mate you were asking for that!!)

Alex v Andrew
Didn't see any of this one either as I was still on the other court (see above again)
Andrew called in at the last minute to strengthen the TW middle order, fortunatly we parried this thrust with our own secret weapon and a comfortable 3-0 to Alex was notched up.

TTT Rent Boy v James
Last time these lads met a couple of weeks ago in Surrey, Rent Boy munched James up and spat all the little soft bits out conceding about 4 points in the process. This was a different affair with James coming out all guns blazing and it has to be said was playing some great attacking Squash, 1 up to James. Second game followed the same pattern as the first with James going 8-6 up and a few twitchy bottoms started to show with the Hill players. Thankfully Rent Boy hung in and nicked a crucial 2nd game 10-8. After a tight start to the 3rd Rent Boy took total command hitting great width and length taking this and the forth game in a very impressive fashion leaving James looking very tired.
Really good game to watch with plenty of high quality rallies from both players.

Laney v Streetwise
Laney turned up at his fashionably late 8.30 but with a look on his face that suggested he just had time to devour 3lb of raw meat before arriving could only mean a tough night awaiting Streetwise, and so it turned out. Crash Bang Wallop and a rip snorting 3-0 is bagged by the steaming Laney.

So a good result for the Hill on what could have been a tricky night and that you may think is that, not quite.
Driving Rent Boy home with my foot killing me only to then watch the car in front literally plough into a brand new parked Jag, flip over onto its roof and start heading towards us. No option but to slam both feet onto the brakes (really helping the injury) dive in and drag some soppy git out of the car by his feet through a 1 foot gap. Couple of beers to many it seemed to me.
Never a dull moment in the Priory!!
