Report: | Bromley for the 2nd time this season struggled to get a team out (3 of their top 4 players unavailable). However Dulwich were obviously taking this fixture seriously as they fielded their strongest side.
Duncan and Ron kicked off the match with their game ebbing and flowing one way and then the other a good hard fought tie. Next on Tim v Keith, Keith took an early lead going 4-0 up but from there Tim controlled the game some good rallies and of particular note a very nice corkscrew shot from Tim which rolled along the back wall. With Ron having played at 3 Tubby found himself elevated to 2 for the first time for several years and against Lauren. Lauren controlled the match from the start with good lengths and drops sending Terry scampering from front to back (never had to run so much for so few points) Although Tubby did come up with a few non standard winners so got a point closer to the winning mark as each game progressed. Another 4 games and I might have won one, if I could have lasted that long. Finally Steve took on Ray who tried hard but Steve was always in control. |
