Report:ROB DIGS BADGER OUT OF A HOLE!

Rob Lewis rolled back the years and the flab in a remarkable comeback against Turkish Delight in the deciding rubber of this all important match. In doing so he got Badger out of jail and gave Bexley the win they actually deserved.

Badger vs King (semi let down) Lewy

With King (sld) Lewy hitting nicks for fun and Badger newly promoted to the No1 position, this match had the promise of looking about as attractive as carrot and cabbage soup. However, Badger lived up to his position and pushed King (sld) Lewy all the way. Granted the line and length of both players was lacking, but the atmosphere, speed and length of the rallies were quality and good fun to watch. King (sld) Lewy took the first 2 games and looked like he would cruise to a 0-3 win. This wasn’t the case and we all know that when a badger turns nasty, nothing can stop them (apart from a vehicle travelling at fast speeds – ahh it’s so sad to see a run over badger) anyway, Badger did see red and won the following 2 games 18-0. This was though all a ploy and King (sld) Lewy was back in the 5th to complete his badger killing spree, winning 9 something. Good game and well played Badger, shame you didn’t mark as well as you played. That really was the worst marked game I’ve seen in all my years off playing – Turkish and Bromley CC was robbed!!!

Score – 2-3 in favour of King semi let down Lewy.

Matt Vs El Capitano (No3)

Whilst the ding dong was going on next door, this one turned out to be a fairly one sided affair.
El Capitano couldn't get to grips with Matts' consistent play, his deft volleys and Steves' awful marking. A brief fight back in the 1st suggested El Capitano would push Matt hard, in fact all it did was tire El Capitano out and he duly lost the second 9-1. The third was close in patches, but in all fairness El Capitano never really troubled Matt.
El Capitano needs to regain his fitness and recover from his football injuries fast if he his to lead his beloved away from relegation.
At least Steve won't be marking him again.
A
ll square 1-1

Steve Vs Dutch Prodigy (No2)

Didn't see much of this game, so I'll make it up.
Dutch prodigy played a controlled game, with good width and length, however Steve would always seem to get to one shot too many. Each game was nip and tuck all the way, with Steve hitting Dutch Prodigy fairly regularly.
As the game drew to a close, Dutch Prodigy vented his frustration at the awful marking by Badger, however it didn't help and Steve comfortably won 3-0.
Let's hope Dutch Prodigy can get fit for the rest of the season, not least for his wedding!!

ILLEGAL vs JT (No5)

JT didn't really look up for this one, especially after his argument indoors about a dirty spatula had put him in a real bad mood. He was up against an opponent I hadn't seen before, but he looked fairly useful with the volley, and his retrieval skills were good. JT on the other looked like he was playing with a dirty spatula.
Anywho as it turned out this match didn't actually matter.
Badger had tried to pull a fast one, again. Illegal had already played for David Lloyd earlier in the season - hence his result was void.
At least it was a good opportunity for JT to get out of the house.

Rob Lewis Vs Turkish Delight (No4)

With the match all square, it would come down to the final rubber of the night. They began warming up at about 9.20 - but it soon became clear we were in for a marathon. The first game was a dull slow affair - only made bearable by Badgers' strange marking. 25mins later, Turkish had taken great delight by winning the 1st 9-7.
It was at this stage that BCC sensed an improbable victory. With the chance to give BCC the win, Turkish raced through the 2nd 9-2 with some tight crosscourts, and general consistency. Rob on the other hand looked to be beating himself up.
In the 2nd game interval - Illegal began cursing and fretting at his mistake - he obviously felt bad and he was doing everything to let Badger know how sorry he was - and I mean everything.
It didn't help that the BCC lads were winding him up at how he had basically cost Bexley the title.
The BCC smirk was soon wiped off though as Rob found a 5th wind and got on top of Turkish. His error strewn game vanished and he began to chip away at Turkishs' lead and wear him down.
A hard weekend of squash took its toll on Turkish in the fifth, as he looked jaded and slow to react. Somehow Rob won 3-2 and saved Illegals' imminent hanging by Badger.

The after match meal was served at 11, whilst the lads discussed the merits of Big Brother. Steve was meanwhile explaining to Rob how Guernsey once ruled the UK - or something as interesting as that.
