Report

Report:Always a welcome sight when you see an opposition captain trudging up the hill stairs with a hang dog expression on his face.First words to pass Streetlife's lips being 'James is away but we will try to give you a game'
Strangely enough this news seemed to have an adverse reaction from several of the hill players as will be seen later.

A Good Few Beers v Steve
Only saw the first 5 points of this one as I was about to go on but having played Steve myself in the first half and looking at his results through the season,I figured AGFB would need to be on his game. Imagine my suprise when at the end of my second game AGFB is on the balcony with his first lager in hand and a stupid grin on his face.
According to Rent Boy this was a very efficient performance from AGFB, possibly his best this season.High praise indeed. 3-0 to AGFB.

Debt Collector v Ross
DC went off fast in this one taking the ball early and not giving Ross a chance to move the ball around at an even pace which he does very well.First two games went fairly comfortably to DC.Start of the third DC dropped the pace and not sticking to the gameplan, big mistake and Ross moves steadily to 8-0 before DC gets a few points on the board. No matter Ross takes the third 9-3.
DC gets back on it in the fourth taking early vollies and keeping the pace high. The forth is wrapped up 9-3. 3-1 to DC.

Now it's time for the 'Happy Hillers'

Rent Boy V Paul
Didn't see this one as it was done and dusted by the time I got off but I did see Rent Boy coming off with a face like a smacked pig. Must have gone badly I thought But no,Rent Boy has only dropped 2 points in a quick 3-0 win.Apparently he had been off the fags for two days and stretching for an hour at home getting up for his game with James who was a no show. Blimey, don't want to be around when he loses.

Laney v Streetlife
Enter Smacked pig face number two.
Got to see most of this while keeping an eye on Audit Alex on the other court.
All three games followed the same pattern with Streetwise working extremely hard in every rally and Laney showing early signs in the first of a nasty shaking head affliction which seemed to get worse as the match progressed.Come the third with Laney 2 games up and Streetlife still working his socks off to find a way back in, something really did look like it was going to blow in the Laney fusebox.Fortunatly AGFB saved the day by giving a few dodgy lets to Streetlife at 5-6 which seemed to minimise the shaking head syndrome and ignite the rip snorting, raw meat chomping, crashbangwallop Laney we know so well. 3-0 to not a happy Laney. In his post match interview the verdict was 'That was crap but I suppose not as crap as when I chopped Kimpton last night'

Audit Alex v Andrew
Last up, smacked pig face number three.
All started very happy smiley with these two sharing a mixture of very good rallies with some very bad ones. However the very bad ones seemed to become more exclusive to Audit as the game went on and the first is lost 9-7 to Andrew.
This is not how Audit had things planned and the mood was growing darker than the lights on court (sorry Hand Jive we still havn't fixed them yet!)
However with the other games over, plenty of verbal support is given from the hill which seemed to kick start Audit into playing some fine rallies. A good mixture of nicks, lobs and in several cases some unbelievable retrieving saw Audit get back on track and take the next three fairly comfortably.
Best match of the night this one but you would never have thought so looking at Audit.Just to make things worse he even tried the Rent Boy answer to frustration by hitting his calf as hard as possible with his racket several times but this was only rewarded by a row of two's and threes from the judges in the balcony.

So a good win for the hill but don't tell that to the three little smacked pigs!
