Report:BCCs' Surge Up The Street (league) Continues!!

For the 2nd succesive week, BCC 1st team riddled with injuries, battled to an impressive win - this time down in deepest Kent.

No sooner had they negotiated the journey, JT and Turkish were whisked onto court by an eager home captain.

J Webberly Vs Turkish (No5)

Turkish had been demoted to 5 this week, after several weeks out recovering from his injury, whilst also tanning himself in his new mansion out in Turkey. Fortuneatly for Turkish, Tunbridges' 5 had stepped in at the last minute, and despite a battling effort was playing way above his station. Turkish showed no mercy and demolished him in quick fashion with consistently tight squash.

Ross vs JT (No4)

Promoted to 4, JT was keen to prove his Captains' decision right. He looked like he was still negotiating Turkish's directions in the first as his squash was loose and error ridden. A stern talking to himself in the interval did the trick though. He rattled off the next 3 in quick fire fashion with some excellent squash that had gasps from the galleries and bar.
JT then had to shoot straight off, something about 'on a promise!!'

TWRC 0 - 2 BCC

Joleyn Head Vs King Lewy (No1)

These two had been eagerly awaiting this match up. Both of them play togther for UBS, so they know each others games inside out.
Joleyn was tight and consistent in the first two, whilst King Lewy looked to be suffering from his man flu.
King Lewy began to find his form though in the next 2. He was running everything down and chasing Joleyn all over the court. It was King Lewy in the ascendency, whilst Joleyn looked tired.
From somewhere Joleyn found a second wind, and despite close exchanges early on - managed to hold on to the win. Shame King Lewy works in Payroll.

Andrew Vs Dutch Prodigy (No 2)
Dutch Prodigy began this game in a jumper, work socks and see through lycra style shorts - having just got off the train from work. (Didn't know you could wear that attire in London?)
Is hamstring was still niggling away, so the last thing he needed was a battle royale against Andrew the 5 game king.
The first two games were evenly shared as both players adapted to each others games, and the below freezing temperatures. Reporter missed the rest - but it looks like Dutch Prodigy battled to the end, despite his hamstring giving him severe problems. Let's hope he's back for next week.

TWRC 2 - 2 BCC

Street Vs El Capitano (No3)

It was up to the captains in the deciding rubber.
Determined to get the win for BCC, El Capitano used all his tactical nous in the first with hard low squash, not allowing Street to get into his trademark volleying. Bouyant after the 1st, El Capitano went into his shell in the second. Streets delaying tactics got to El Capitano and he threw it away, letting Street dictate. However a quick talking to woke El Capitano up and he stormed the next 2, with Street having no answer.

A great curry followed with Spotted Dick for dessert. King Lewy bemoaned the lack of custard on the trek home, whilst Dutch Prodigy was still searching for his missing socks.

I'm off to post these scorecards through Gary Barretts door - wouldn't want anyone to get docked points for late scorecards.
