| Report: | End of season thriller (well it was for the BCC supporters club who came down to see if PL could snatch the Summer title for them by sneaking a tie)! Looks like we did them the big favour.
Valiant efforts all round by PL, but coming out on the losing side.
Gina v Iain was a fairly one sided affair with Gina seemingly not able to read Iain's tricky repertoire and going down to her only defeat of the season.
Author v Alex.
A topsy turvy match this one, with the author ultimately coming up short having forgotten to employ the tying the shoelaces routine in the 5th after a 5-1 lead evaporated in some hard rallies.
Paul v Lauren.
Didn't see any of this, but Lauren looks to have taken a while to get into it (as evidenced from what I did see which was a highly uncharacteristic air shot in the knock up). Once back on track though, it looks like her variety and accuracy won the day.
James v Antonio.
Another gruelling match after their encounter a couple of weeks back, which Antonio snuck in five. This time the boot was (just about) on the other foot. A very long and competitive match with James saving the best til last with a framer at match ball! |
