Report

Report:Memories still fresh on the Hill of our last encounter with the PL2 boys, what was the Sly Fox going to scheme up this time.Could it be Peter Nicol or perhaps Adrian Grant,no not these also rans, the Fox went the whole way and drafted in KEVIN KIMBER!

Debt Collector v Kevin
With the PC on the Hill best behaviour was called for and this match was a great way to kick off the evening setting a fine example for the rest to follow.
Although the squash was pretty straight forward with DC only dropping 4 points, this match was played in a fine spirit with Kevin in particular showing an excellent sporting attitude towards DC, AGFB (who was marking) and anybody else who was privileged to watch this match.Even the bar staff mentioned what a polite gentleman he was when asking for a drink afterwards. So WELL DONE KEVIN KIMBER for making it such an enjoyable evening!!!

Camp Ninja Deano v Nick
Didn't see anything of this one due to marking duties but did hear plenty of shouting and bawling coming from next door. Mr Bunts on marking duties had that look on his face which suggested he wished he had been marking the game before with that nice Kimber chap!
Still all was well in the end with CND taking a good 3-1 win but Nick seemed ok with things after putting in a good performance.

Rent Boy v Dave
Lots of pre match hype about this one and it seemed to show at the start with both lads making a number of unforced errors. However Rent Boy was the first to settle in to a good line and length which gradually stretched out a healthy lead resulting in the first going to Rent Boy 9-1.
A couple of errors from Rent Boy mixed with Dave firing in some hard, low kills opened up a 4-1 lead for Dave in the second.Again this was pegged back by Rent Boy hitting a relentless barrage of of working backhand lengths which seemed to sap the strength out of Daves legs. This followed by several hard volley exchanges across the middle tilted the score Rent Boys way and the second was closed out 9-4. The third saw Rent Boy in full flow taking total control and the game 9-1.
A pretty one sided scoreline didn't really reflect how this one went. A good game to watch and mark.

Audit Alex v Sly Fox
The hounds were sent out from the Hill to hunt down the Fox in the shape of Audit and what a fine job he did.Picking up the scent almost instantly (you do stink Blackman) it was a case of run but you can't hide.
This was a one sided affair with Audit making some fine pick ups and sending the Fox to all corners of the court on several occasions. That said, the fox was game and made for a really entertaining game.Lots of laughs all round mainly due to the dry banter coming from AB.Well done mate never laughed so much when marking a game.

A Good Few Beers V Jon Boy
Only saw the last half of this one which had by then titlted in favour of AGFB,but i'm told Jon started well forcing errors from AGFB resulting in the first game going to Jon 9-7.
The next three games saw AGFB moving the ball around the court extending the rallies and making Jon work a lot harder for his points. With Jon unable to keep with the higher pace, the next three games were closed out in reasonable order by AGFB resulting in a good 3-1 win.

So with the squash wrapped up it off to the bar to admire the smooth operating style of Mr Bunts working his verbal magic on Kim the Landlady whilst never for one moment taking his eyes off what PC described as here 'ample breasts'.

So a good night with my old mates from PL2 made all the more enjoyable by the addition of that ultimate sportsman KEVIN KIMBER.
lets hope the Sly Fox can tempt him out one more time next week for our cup game,we need people like him to show how we all should behave both on and off the court no matter how good or bad you have played!!
