Report: | It was first on for the number twos and number fives this week. Poultwood welcomed back Paul Higgs at five after a long period of idleness (although Paul insists he was injured). His shot play was not rusty though, 3-0 and off to dent the bar tab. Andy Davies against Jake was a different matter. Hard hitting squash throughout. The match was decided by Jake’s intention to press forward and take things early and before Andy had settled, the first game was Jake’s. When Jake hung back Andy stepped in and showed what happens when you let him play, taking the second game 9-0. Jake was not in the mood for retreat though and with a bit of red-mist induced back chat for the marker closed out the match 9-4 9-4. Poultwood’s middle order of De Wit and Cannon is proving to be strong in this league and ODs were unable to gain any points, Lewis and Bossley both going down 3-0. Andy Crispin and Paul McLeod went on court when 4-0 to Poultwood looked inevitable. It is no small credit to Andy then that he kept the pressure on through three tight games to salvage some points for ODs. |
