Report:BCC HIT CANNONS FOR SIX

BCC won their 7th consecutive game in all competitions on Tuesday night, and it saw them put to bed their horrific run of results against their close neighbours.
Tony the Turk was back from injury, whilst the rest of the team remained unchanged for the 7th consecutive match.

King Lewy vs Sam (No.1)
In this greatly anticipated match between Good Vs Evil, Lewy stepped on court with only one desire – to win. The match started off well and continued to do so with good length, width and speed. After last weeks drunken performance, Lewy was desperate to do better, with the help of a few AA meetings this was going to be possible. Neither player was going to give up, and it took a lot of hard work and determination from Lewy to crack Sam. He finally did and Sam was struggling around the court with cramp (quite pathetic really) after 7 hours and 52 minutes the game was over and Lewy was victorious. But not only was it a victory over Sam, it was a victory over Alcohol abuse. Lewy should now have the spirit to go forth and drink only water the night before a game – or at least keep his drinking problem behind closed doors.
Lewy victorious, 3-2

El Capitano v Kimpton (No.3)
El Capitano made a trademark loved up start to this one as he was so busy listening out for his distinctive message alert in the first game he forgot to wake up to Kimpton's boast fest. 9-1 To Rich. Clearly incensed at the 30 second snub from his beloved, Ian upped the tempo in the second and cut out the errors and love pangs that characterised the first game to pull the score back to a game apiece. Rich's game plan was forcibly changed at this point. Those of you who know Rich will appreciate the significance of his "nick or bust" tactic. Ian sensibly tapped in to his opponent's condition with a counter attack of tin shots. 2-1 to Rich. After giving himself a stern talking too in the fourth, Ian cut out the mistakes and capitalised on some terrific retrievals and cleverly disguised cross courts to take the game 9-7. At
2-2 with Richard panting like a (insert inappropriate joke here) the smart money was on Ian - especially after he stormed into a 3-0 lead.
However, if there is one thing my collection of torn up Cheltenham betting slips has taught me it is not to back the odds-on favourite. A controversial decision from the marker threw Ian off his stride and Richard found his first wind to round off an exceptional match 3-2.

Match all square at 1-1

JT vs Dave Leach (No.4)
Birthday boy JT began the match well. He was coping with Dave’s’ volleys and had the measure of him early on, however from a winning position of 7-2, he contrived to throw away the lead (as he has done so often this season) and let Dave back into the game.
The 2nd followed a similar vain – with both players showing neat touches round the front, moving their opponent round well, and then throwing away the point with a needless error. However JT just had enough in this game to level at 1-1.
From this moment on though the match was a one-sided affair. JT was skipping around the court whilst Dave cast a forlorn figure. JT continued his hard hitting and fast squash whilst Dave seemed stuck at the back. All JT needed to do was force Dave to the back and that was rally over.
A comfortable win by JT in the end, he’s been a real star this season, in stark contrast to his 12 consecutive defeats last season. He was however slow to pay his subs – he was last this week.

Tony the Turk vs D Beevers (No.5)
Recent weeks has seen ‘The Turk’ splitting his time between tanning himself in his Turkish mansion and getting stuck in between Lorries and cars. He looked however ready for business tonight. He was up against a slim Darren who had lost 6 stone in recent weeks. According to my source, he managed this by chasing Ted ‘The Lip’ Jeal who had stolen his hub caps.
This was a nip and tuck affair with both players showing signs of form, and then signs of why they play at 5. Tony ‘The Turk’ got himself into an early lead in the 1st and then threw it away; he did manage to hold on to his lead in the 2nd. He slowed down the game in the third, taking forever between points, in an attempt to gain some air. This benefited him and went 2-1 up.
I missed the 4th and 5th games, as I had collapsed in astonishment due to King Lewy offering to mark. According to my trusty source, Tony ‘The Turk’ looked like a Turkey caught in an 18 wheelers’ headlights during the 4th. Darren raced through the 4th dropping only 1 point.
Darren’s’ fitness was somewhat lacking in the 5th, and Tony ‘The Turk’ seized the advantage. His consistent squash returned, and his drops began to take effect. He held on for a great comeback win and gave BCC the victory.

Dutch Prodigy Vs Ted Theodore Logan (AKA the Lip)

A game between Michel and Ted was always on the cards. As clothing seems to be the main topic of conversation with Michel, we’ll start with the attire. Michel stepped on court wearing decent squash trainers, new shorts and his usual South African top. Quite the correct attire for once, so from that side nothing further to declare.
The game started off with Michel winning and looking the part, and this was followed by some great nicks by both players. Ted won the second and third fairly quickly, however the game was not over. Michel stepped back on court and looked up to the challenge. Pulling off some clever shots he won the 4th very well and all was squared up for the 5th. The game was looking good and support from both teams was overwhelming. However this was not the help Michel needed and Ted was quick to push him round the court and make him look like a hippo trying to turn quickly in a small bath tub. Ted’s fast and powerful shots were too much and he won in fairly quick succession.
Ted, 3-2.
(Report by JT)

At 11pm with the matches finally over, the teams sat down to Sausages and Onions. Banter mainly focused around Ted ‘The Lip’ Jeal and his recent decision to deflect to Park Langley for nxt season. I doubt the establishment their will take to his ‘LIP’.
