Report

Report:Earlier in the week this was building into another juicy little encounter with our old sparring partners but in truth fizzled out into a bit of a damp squib.
Dave Harris was called away at last knockings for duties with PL2 in Tunbridge Wells (top result boys, give me an update Jon)
James and Ben played their match behind closed doors after we were advised by Special Branch of possible crowd trouble and Mark Currie decided to turn up nearer to Wednesday rather than 7.30 on Tuesday.

James v Ben
Can't tell anybody anything as it was agreed by players and captains that this fixture would be played earlier in the day due to commitments in the evening.Bit of a shame, would have been a good match to watch.

Laney v Adam
Didn't see much of this one either as I was on the other court but what I did see was Laney seeming to go through the motions with Adam looking a bit down in the mouth.3-0 to the meat eater.

Debt Collector v Andy
Andy started brightly seeming to read everywhere DC was going to put the ball before DC had made his own mind up !
DC decided to stop thinking which seemed to confuse Andy and a quick run of points saw DC nick the first 9-7.Mistakes started to creep into Andys game with DC getting a better length. The second going 9-3 to DC.The third ended very quickly with Andys will to live seemingly gone.9-0 to DC.

Audit Alex v Hand Jive
This looked to me like it would be a good scrap with two totally contrasting styles but to be fair it never really got going with both players never playing well at the same time.
Alex took the first comfortably with HJ making too many errors. The next three saw HJ cut down the mistakes and floating the ball to the back to a good line and length which didn't allow Audit to feed off any pace which he does so well.HJ reels off the next three in pretty quick order and Audit catches up with some sleep for the next hour!

Rent Boy v Vindaloo
By now dawn is beckoning,Rent Boys Birthday mood has long dissappeared and his face has changed to smacked pig mode which I witnessed once earlier this season.
Not much to say really,Rent Boy went through the motions and for the first time this season the calf remained intact without any sign of abuse or laceration.

A good result for the Hill but the living legend that is Clive London remains unchallenged on his perch.
