Report: | Superstar Brendon, not only saved us from losing 2 points because we may have had to play with only four players, he went on to win the first game, which gained us 1 point. Result. Well done Brendon, great effort. Unfortunately Brendon was unlucky in the next three games and lost 3/1 but he played really well. Thanks for playing Brendon and great game to mark and watch.
Sweeney done his typical 'fall asleep whilst playing' last night and lost the 1st game. After putting a rocket up his bum, Dan then became explosive on court, kept his opponent to the back of the court and won comfortably 3/1.
Keeley played Louise and went 2 games to 0 down (losing the second 9-0), 3-0 down in the third game, then shouted very loudly to herself "COME ON KEELEY PUT SOME EFFORT IN". After the wake up call she then took the 3rd game 9/3. The 4th was very, very close, Keeley taking it 10-8, sheer determination not to lose it after being 8-6 up! 5th and final game, Keeley went on focussed and won it 9/0. Great game to play, great result Keeley winning 3/2.
Only thing that spoilt the match was Stewarts shockingly shit marking. Not sure what he sees on court but it ain't what everyone else sees. His marking is about as good as his squash, appalling!!!
Having not played for 4mths, Ian was called into the fray against Dale (who had equally had a long absence).
Effort from both was high, quality was not so.
Ian used his tactical nous ... (oh who I am kidding - he just hacked the ball round the court) to take a close first. Fitness played a key part in the 2nd as Ian stepped off the gas and let Dale dictate. 1-1
More of the same in the 3rd as Dale raced into an 8-4 lead, at which point Ian decided to play. He clawed his way back into the game and match following a controversial call against Dale, and closed out an epic comeback 10-8.
Some wise words from Ali Mac at the interval and Ian changed his game, taking advantage of his opponents tiredness and winning the 4th comfortably 9.4
Last to play was Stewpot and what a crap match to watch. So boring and frustrating as both players argued every decision Alistair made, asking him to explain "WHY", then each player throwing a strop because they didn't get the decision they wanted. Stewart bounced the ball more times than Djokovic does before each serve, he should have got a warming. Stewart lost 3/1, he played like he couldn't be arsed and as if his mind was still in France, he needn't have bothered to turn up tonight. Crap squash, crap marker. |
