| Report: | Both sides were depleted owing to Valentines Day but Cannons 2 still managed to pull off a 4 - 1 victory against Cascades 2 despite turning up with only 4 players.
Zeb Young managed to see off the equally young at heart John Lowe who was left recalling the days, along with the rest of the Cascades team, when they could get around the court as quick as Zeb.
Alan Saxer prevented Peter Leighton from drawing the match in the fourth. Peter was making a determined comeback and suprised Alan with his lightening speed around the court but managed to puff his way back from 7/3 down to take 9/7 in the 4th.
A tight match was contested at the 3rd slot between Keith Holland and Robert Smith but despite finding his length and power in the fourth and looking to dominate the 5th Keith let the Cannons captain in to pip him in the final stage.
Finally, Mark Wilkinson came up against the sylish Karen Hume who took the match in 3 straight games in an impressive performance despite Mark putting in a gritty display.
There was no Cannons no.5 hence why yours truly has got the energy to write the match report at this time of night!!! |
