Report

Report: Last night after the 1st teams close loss the 3rd team kicked of their promotion chasing season with a win over Sundridge Park 2.
First on was Paul McCleod, Pau l started of slowly trying to play Pascal at his own game, lots of front court drops and little to the back of the court 6/9 (0-1). After a few words of tactical wisdom by the club captain Paul came out firing in the second 9/3 (1-1). This tactic continued with more driving to the back and upping the pace. After the shaky start a fairly comfortable win 3-1.
Next on was New Member in his first match for TWells and fan club in tow, Tom Blagden. After a slow first game 4/9 (0-1) Tom game out firing in the second and things started to look promising when he served his opponent a nice bagel 9-0 (1-1). Dave then seemed to pry on Tom lack of fitness by twisting and turning him to take the 3rd 3/9 (1-2) then a seesaw 4th game went to the away side 6/9 (1-3)
Meanwhile on court A the reserved Jon Webberley was having a close competitive battle with Dillon. Jon took a close 1st and lost a close 2nd 9/7, 9/10 (1-1). The 3rd was very competitive with traffic Issues getting more prevalent the ever calm Jon started to get rattled but took the 3rd 9/5 (2-1). At the beginning of the 4th Jon looked in trouble with a knee Issue and Dillon quickly made him pay 1/9 (2-2). Jon started the 5th but his knee was not worth the risk so retired Injured at the start 1/9 (2-3)
With Sundridge Park only having 4 players we had already won the 5th string so it was down to Vice Captain Adam Barnes to bring the win home. After a slow start in the 1st 6/9 (0-1) Tom went down and gave Adam some tactical advice, this worked wonders as Adam too the second game 9/6 (1-1) and the 3rd 9/4 (2-1). At the beginning of the 4th Chris pulled up in what he thought was cramp. Will Burke kindly went down to assist and Informed Chris it was actually a muscle tear so Chris had to retire 9/1 (3-1). So without actually playing Will managed to give TWells the win.
