Report: | What a contrast! From the most exciting night of the year at OD's to the least at Knole.
Memorable moments were few. One for the record was Tom's 'fight back'. Having been 2-0 5-1 up and lost against Andy in the away fixture, Tom tried hard to repeat. 9/1 9/0 and 8-4 up. Don't look now - just scraped home 3-1.
Saddest moment of the evening - the news that Old Dunstonians will be no more. Old Wilsonians beckons. No more Langley hospitality - unless The Sly Fox can get his remaining boys back into Div 2 sharpish.
We'll miss you, ODs. Not least for the 20 points - very valuable for the race for 6th position in the league.
Next week, Amida. The bar is stocked; the Cider overfloweth; the 'A' team is on standby (flights from Gatwick to anywhere).
Still can't believe the Beckenham result, though. Cath the Great loses. Promotion hangs by a thread. Maybe if Knole can take all the points against the Amida aspirants? In your dreams! |
