| Report: | It was nice to welcome Katherine to the mote for the first time and she played some good squash which gave her an initial lead in the first game. However Sarah is ever improving, took control of the match and powered through to victory. Claire and Sandra have very similar games and the match was most enjoyable. Whilst Claire seemed to be leading comfortably going into the third Sandra found her touch and length of game and whitewashed Claire. However Claire was able to rally in the fourth and won a very close battle. In Emily and Alison's game it looked in the second game like Alison had found a response to Emily's power however Emily then lifted her game again to secure a win. The match of the evening however belonged to Sharon and Cathy who demonstrated some wonderful squash, playing to a continual good length and moving around the court with apparent ease, even though the evening was close and warm. The game was played in vocal and good spirit and whilst Cathy played well Sharon just seemed to always have the upper hand. Most entertaining though. As for the apres squash, the company was great and we look forward to meeting up again in the winter league. |
