Report

Report:After all the pre match hype before this one, common sense broke out and fairly standard teams took to the courts to battle it out.
Mighty Mac missing from the Hill in his rotation slot and Dangerman still injured with a nasty complaint called Blackman Miles disease,a rare condition which I wouldn't wish on anyone.More about that later.
First up

Rent Boy v Little Hoof
I found this one quite amusing as for the first time Rent Boy assumed the role of teacher with his eager pupil happy to gain some wisdom.
Probably not the best night for the learning to advance as this one became a bit of a hack fest.
LH won the first 3 points but scored no more as RB kept things tight and reeled in the next 9.
The second was one way traffic with RB in full flow and LH racket starting to bounce of the walls.9-0 to RB.
A little advice from RB and coach Harris saw LH get his head down in the third ably assisted by RB who tried to hit nicks from every corner of the court and failing miserably.Third to LH.
Normal order was restored in the forth with RB taking an 8-1 lead before again trying to find his old mate nick without success, instead constantly giving the tin a good workout.
Finally at 8-6 RB kept the ball up long enough to wrap things up 9-6.
Not the best squash from these two with both making plenty of unforced errors but in between some fine rallies.

Laney v Sly Fox
First game was unfair as Laney bashed seven bells out of the ball and SF will to live.
The second and third however saw SF slow things down and in both cases taking healthy leads before in each case being reeled in by the Laney tenticals which seemed to pick the ball out of the air from any height or direction.3-0 to the big fella.

A Good Few Beers v Junior Jon
Didn't see any of this one but I'm told by Junior that despite the scoreline this was a good match which he thoroughly enjoyed.Gawd I wonder how Junior feels when he wins a game!!

Smooth Operator v Trev
Well what can I say about this one.
All done and dusted in very quick order.Trev as we all know is no mug but the smooth one did not put a foot wrong playing excellent length mixed with great retrieving, wrong footing cross courts and top quality nick kills (Should have been watching and learning Rent Boy)
According to Junior this match was over while he was only completing one game.
S.O seems to be on a mission this season, certainly raising the bar to his game in my opinion.

Dept Collector v Ever So Nice Nick
Scoreline didn't really reflect this one with lots of hand in/outs but DC putting points on the board in between giving Nice Nick a good physical battering. Sorry mate, hope your not too bruised this morning.

So an emphatic win for the Hill and off to the bar.
At this point the Hill boys sat back and watched the outstanding PL2 team spirit kick in with Sly and Junior taking every opportunity to rip the *iss out of Dave.If it wasn't his Rent Boy back condition, it was his inability to play eye spy on the M2 or his failure to recognise the talents of those rising squash stars Wayne Kerr and Wayne King.
By the time the evening was over Dave had physically shrunk by about a foot, shaking his head slowly thinking WHY DO I BOTHER !

Top night lads,cheers.
