| Report: | In a switched fixture Fitness First travelled to Freds.
First on were Ross and Andy. Ross adopting his usual unsuccessful tactic of hitting the ball as hard as possible into the front corners so that it travelled back to the T for his opponent to kill or to call a stroke. Although Ross went one nil down he hadn't broken a racket yet and had only swore at the marker a handful of times so things were looking up for Freds. Games two and three saw Ross regain some of his composure (are we talking about the same Ross?)and take a 2 - 1 lead. A close third game saw Ross edge to 3-1.
Peter took on Dave at the same time. I only saw the fifth game where Peter was fighting for his life. At 6-3 down Dave lost his footing and twisted his ankle. Amid the screams our first thoughts were, game to Freds oh sorry, hope he'll be ok. After some treatment to his already swollen ankle Dave hobbled on to take the match 9-8 in the fifth.
Matt was always going to struggle against Terry having not played for a few weeks and been on holiday. Despite pulling the match back to 1-1 Matt just couldn't stay with the fitter Terry and lost 3-1
Number ones Dave and George fought out a very entertaining match with some unbelievable rallies. Unfortunately for the home bar bill Dave won 3-0 and was not driving this week leaving the way clear for him to start his assault on the Becks earlier than usual.
The decider. Paul v Sid. There was only ever going to be one result here. Surely Sid couldn't stay with the much fitter young pup from Freds. Against the odds Sid surged to a 1-0 lead. Paul took the next two and looked certain to take the fourth. At 8 all and with the air ambulance on standby Sid called one and after a change of serve graciously hit the ball into the tin for a Freds win.
Out of the relegation zone!!!!!!!!
