Report: | Four matches finished by 8.50 and no sign of last Sparks man Dave! Gruppenfuhrer Justin (probably miffed at me nicking his initials) would like the matter taken up with the committee! Fat chance.
Now, if only I could find a copy of the rules.....
Actually, KPJJ was tempted to take the points without telling SPJJ - as he never looks at or inputs to the website (like many others, eh P.C.?). However, Ollie was taking an interest in the match reports and KPJJ was prevailed upon by a more mature teammate not to get the hump just because we were stuffed.
As for the matches:
Jerry v SPJJ - one sided. Justin is looking much fitter and squashier than last year; he should have no trouble playing at no.1 in the second half.
KPJJ v Ollie - JJ felt briefly better than last week; an opponent only a third of his age rather than a fifth. It didn't last, however, as the humidity and JJ's lack of skill shone through - one sided.
Mark v Billy - one sided, apart from a curious 9-0 to Mark in the 3rd. No explanation for the blip, unless it was Mark's annoyance at playing against a baseball cap.
Chris v Kevin - one sided. A pity for Kevin, who is going through a crisis of confidence caused by the absence of thetarkagrooveexperiment's lead singer. In his defence, he should have been playing at 2; and Chris was loooking at his sharpest this season following his comeback. He might even get a few points off Mr Lindsay at BLTC next week if he practises.
Chris v Dave - played after the lights had gone out. Dave took a game to recover from his late shift at work. Thereafter, he just had the edge over a tiring Chris. A valuable point for the team, though, Chris.
