Report: | Bromley LT 1 knew that if they won the match they would be division 2 champions, so they went into the match dropping 3 of their regular players to make it interesting ( or they were away on holidays - during the season, pah, no committment ).
As it turned out, Fredericks were short as well - short of regular players, not short of stature.
The match was also honoured by the arrival of the Priory Committee. Come to see Colin play having attempted to do when Bronley played Beckenham - the week Colin was on holiday.
Keith versus Ross
The same two met in the first half fixture. However, Ross kept his cool and played the better for it. Unfortunately, he was only giving 28 years to Keith who ran out the inner in 3. But a nice game and congratulations to Ross at the start of his more mature approach.
Nick versus Pete at 5.
Pete was pleased to be playing someone 100 years his junior. I didn't see any of it but pleased to record Nick's first First Team win afte 1 or 2 close ones previously.
Ray v Dave at 4.
Dave was a late call up to play his first competative match in several months. Which, almost predictable meant being 2-0 down and then pulling a calf muscle. Ray obviously must have played a lot of drops.
3-0 to Bromley at the Title is theirs.
Mark versus Paul at 3.
Again I didn't see any of this but John Bunce was marking so I'm sure there was no arguing from the players. Paul won 3-1 with some tight rallies and games.
Colin and Dave at 1
Gary offered to mark this one, to get the best view presumably. However at 9/1 9/3 9/1 it was over fairly quickly - Colin out to prove a point probably in front of his girlfriend, Fiona. Colin has obviously learnt what a drop shot is after his holiday a few weeks ago.
So overall 4-1 to Bromley and undefeated for the whole season, thank you team. And Priory.
