Report: | Just what you need to start off the summer season. An eighty mile round trip to Tunbridge Wells to play the division 4 winter champions.
First up the mighty Taffy. His opponent is half his age and is a lean as a butcher's dog. Taffy's greater shot making expertise helps him take the first. But from then on youth and exuberance take over. Lost 3-1.
Danny recently returned from Madrid is on the other court. Too much tapas is the view from the balcony. Lost 3-0.
Next up Myself a recently recruited reserve for the injured Neil. Lost the first badly, fought back in the second. Lack of pre-season then dooms him to defeat. Lost 3-1.
Kevin was next and his starts the summer season like he finished the winter, by getting involved in an intense 5 set struggle. At 2-0 it
looks all over but he fights back to level at 2-2. However his wily opponent just has too much for him in the fifth. Lost 3-2.
Last up Sean. He doesn't like a late court and it shows as he goes 2 love down. Templar however hates defeat even more than a late court and slowly gets himself back into the match and levels at 2-2. It is nip and tuck in the fifth but Tunbridge just too strong in the end. So Lost 3-2.
Many thanks to Tunbridge for their hospitality and DAnny for driving. |
