Report

Report:With the Bromley boys putting out a pretty much full strength team and the Hillbilly rotation system in full swing, this looked like it could be a close one.
On the Hill bench this week, AGFB,Dark Destroyer,Sperm Whale and last and probably least DC.
First up.

James Mac v Mighty Mac
This one had all the signs of being close with James nicking a tight 3-1 last time they met in the summer.
But times have moved on and MM is now a leaner, meaner fighting machine and he wizzed through the first in double quick time 9-0.
Second saw MM again in control at 8-3 but a string of errors brought James back into things at 8-8 (well it wouldn't be MM if we didn't have a string of errors somewhere in the game) However, composure kicked in just in time and the second was sneaked by MM 10-8.
The third was the opposite to the second with James in control at 7-2 and 8-4. This time MM made a comeback to 8-8 when James called one and promptly stuck a crosscourt straight in the tin.
A very good win for old crinkle bonce known to his mates as the Mighty Mac.

Colin v Camp Ninja Deano
First appearance in the league for the man in pink and a very stern test he faced in Colin.
First rally lasted about 30 minutes, the first game lasted about 4 hours!
Both players moved the ball to all corners but neither of them had a clue how to finish a rally. CND eventually won the first and the second also went his way in a similar time and fashion. The third was a tight affair but this time Colin sneaking it and CND looking a bit weary.
Didn't see the 4th & 5th but I'm told Colins fitness was key as CND was well and truly blowing out his *rse.
A really good match that went on a hell of a long time. (Hope your fit for Surrey tonight CND or Hand Jive will not be best pleased)

King Lewey v Beverley Hills Rent Boy
Now with KL you pretty much Know what your going to get when he steps on court,a good top order bloke playing at a consistantly high standard. But with BHRB these days ???????????????????
Well the answer soon came to this question in the knock up. I was watching the marathon on the other court and couldn't hear a thing as the ball was being larruped (is that a word?) at a pace which made Laney look like a school girl (now there's a thought)
The game had a lot of long hard rallies mostly at high pace but this game was only going to have one winner.
3-0 to BHRB and on this performance, the boy is back.

Sam v Phil 'The Grim Reaper' Nightingale
Well Sam must have been dead chuffed as he bound up his injured thigh and checked out the opponent.
That said,Sam made a good fist of this one. Yes he lost 3-0 but in the last two he was well up in both and playing some really clinical winners and believe me they have to be clinical when your up against TGR. To many unforced errors at important times were Sam's downfall but a good game to watch.

Jabba the Hut v Laney.
Gawd Blimey, what a bounce back to earth watching this one straight after Sam and Phil.
Ball flying in all directions, two bodies doing the same and at the end of it I think Jabba won 3-0.

So it was indeed a close scrap with in places some very good squash (That's not a place anywhere near Jabba or Laney though !)
Wonder who will be on the Hillbilly team sheet next week, think a couple of the boys maybe looking over their shoulder though.

PS Great food afterwards from the Bromley boys, cheers.
