| Report: | Cascades started the season by putting out their strongest team with John Brewer and Neil Baker making their debut appearance for the club.
Sicknote and F.C. went on first (apparently the F stands for "Fit" these days). F.C. dominated a friendly match with Sicknote wondering why he bothered leaving his sickbed...Clearly F.C. has been doing a little training between seasons and played some excellent squash. Sicknote on the other hand never really looked on form.
Next on were Baker and Lewis aka "The Comedian". reportedly an excellent match with Lewis stealing the 3rd from the new no 2 before Neil proving too strong.
John Brewer and "The Chosen One" were almost the highlight of the night, with some outstanding recoveries from both sides. however, "The Chosen One" will have to wait until episode 2 to prove himself as John cruised to victory in a thoroughly enjoyable match.
Fat boy and CC played next with Fatboy seemingly enthused by his new position at the bottom of the order. Fat boy threw off the mantle of his nickname, whilst CC never looked like he had got into his flow.
The final game of the evening was the highlight with "The Scot" and phones4U evenly matched. Phones4u also looked more at home in his new position and played some of his best squash in recent times. The match swayed from one side to the other with some outstanding rallies and some brilliant squash on both sides. Phones4u eventually won through in a great match - wouldn't like to predict the return though...
Overall, good humour and squash all round (excluding myself of course...) |
