Report

Report:After their various degrees of success and failure last week in the Cornwallis, it was decided by DC that both Whales (mother and calf) should be pressed into action again to keep the large extremes of excess blubber in check. Quite clearly they are both losing the battle against obesity and it's very sad to watch them both waddeling on court but hey, you have to be cruel to be kind sometimes !
First up:

Moby Mortimer v Slack
It became quite apparent from a very early stage that Slack new he would have to do double the running he would normally do to get around the ample bulk that inhabited the centre of the court which seemed to leave him looking a little down at the prospect.
The first was littered with errors from Slack (probably because he was always late sighting the ball emerging between various rolls of blubber) 9-2 to Moby. The second saw Slack adjust to this unusual challenge but what he probably didn't bank on was Moby refusing to move resorting instead to playing the ball through his fins, behind his hump and over the top of his blow hole. Strange but very effective.
10-8 to Moby.
Finally can't finish this one without mentioning the couple of times Moby did move, the perpetual motion he gained just resulting with him sprawling around on the floor not that this stopped him.Shots still came from the racket until the blubber mass regained his normal position. 3-0 to Mother Moby.

Calf Whale v Pete
Good game this with as big a difference in styles and body shape as you could wish for.
With Mother Moby on the other court, it was an interesting study to watch Calf Whale Mayle and the similer restricted movements in a more infant state before full lack of movement is reached as was the case next door.
Pete on the other hand, ex super duper badminton player and obviously still a very fit bloke seemed to play at the same high tempo rate for the whole match.
Calf Whale used all his deceptive skills to sneak a 2-1 lead but eventually the blubber and Pete's fitness took their toll and Pete notched up a hard worked 3-2 win.
Never seen a game of badminton game played on a squash court. No offence Pete, it was bloody effective.

The Faz v Dwain
Always going to be an uphill struggle for Dwain but he went about it without fear or favour. In all games taking early leads before the Faz reeled him in. Lots of long Quality rallies which are not really reflected in the score.
3-0 to the Faz.

Rory the Lion King v Daddy Steeden
With the main being tied back before play started, Rory started the faster before Daddy got into things levelling at 6-6. Several fast long rallies befor Lion King sneaked the first 9-6. Daddy reversed things in the second to even the score. The third was a long hard game with both players working very hard. Lion King eventually knicking it 9-7.
This seemed to spell the end to Daddies resistence going down 9-0 in the fourth.

Mighty Mac v Big Rob
Didn't see a single point of this one but it was all done and dusted in very quick order with nothing much said by either party. 3-0 to MM.

So a big win for the Hillbillies but more importantly did any one see that cover up story on the news the other night about Greenpeace having to break off their pusuit of the Japanese whaling fleet in the Antarctic due to lack of fuel ? What a load of old cock that is, their fuelled up to the gunnells and heading back to the UK at top speed. They are due to dock next Tuesday outside Biggin Hill Squash club and round the clock protection will be given to the sole remaining pair of whales able to hold a squash racket. That indeed is a species worth protecting from a harpoon !!
