| Report: | Another weak team out for Cascades with their Brewer running marathons and their Baker playing outer Kent. Meanwhile the team is left relying on their teacher, tailor - no candlestick maker as yet.... (Poor joke, but had to be done sometime in the season)
Fist on was Phones4U at No 1 - what can we say - struggled to make it away from work, car broke down on route, went to Bexley by mistake - things didn't get much better on court!....more seriously, Mo put up a good fight but needs to get back to training to compete at this level.
Me (Sicknote - although i would like to point out I have yet to have an injury this season) and Matt...Again, a few good rallies, with Matt proving to be the stronger player.
Steptoe and Badger on next - First game looked like Tony might upset the balance here, but the Badgers speed and youth proved too much for Tony in the end.
At 3-0 down all looked lost for Cascades but then bully boy Stimpson stepped into the ring with the young Elliott (15 yrs old)...Elliott looked a class player at times (one to watch!) but Stimpson used all his old tactics to win - even resorted to hitting some good shots!
The finale was definitely the come-back King fat boy, who plucked victory from the jaws of the St John Ambulance brigade - his winning shot made whilst on his knees - caught praying to the East between gaes - seemed to work and left Mark feeling like he should think about taking up golf.
Good food and laughs afterwards with a guest appearance from BBGB - well done Bexley and definitely a rematch oganised between seasons! |
