Report: | Could this be the deciding fixture of the season ? The top two teams, this time at Bromley following their 3-2 win at Bexley in the first half.
First on, Tom and Chris.
A close match, by two young, good players, with tight squash, Chris just nicking it in the end.
Keith and Dave
Possibly the deciding tie. Keith never finding any form, maybe caused by Dave playing a good game with many winners coming off his unconventional style.
2-0 to Bexley and not looking good for the home side.
Ron versus Peter
Didn't see any of this, but going the way of Bromley for 2-1 the away team
Martin versus Mike
Both players moving well and hitting good shots. Mike ran into an early lead, winning the first and going 8-0 in the second. At which point he imploded, giving Martin the next 19 points in a row. Mike came back in the 4th but too late, Martin winning 3-1
match all squash at 2-2 going into the 5th tie
Ian v Scott
Scott set off much sharper and more accurately winning 9-0. But Ian fought back well in the 2nd and had game balls. If only. He couldn't convert it to a win and Scott won the 2nd 10-9. He then went on to win the 3rd and the fixture belonged to Bexley, overturning the 1st half result. |
