Report: | Another close encounter, the matches being 1-1 when I arrived with the food, Terry having just failed to hang on for a fifth with Alan (but then he has had a long lay-off) and Paul having pinched a win from Phil in a tight cat-and-mouse game. Brian was totally outplayed on the night by Slade who produced winning boasts and drops from just about anywhere. Similarly, Ray out-performed Dave with an impressive range of shots and, for once, did not ease off when ahead - well, not much anyway. It was all left to Mark and Graham to decide the night's outcome. In a teasing start first Mark and then Graham stole games with pin-point timing and accuracy. Then the tactical play took over and the 3rd game could have gone either way. In the 4th Mark kept his head and moved Graham around slightly more but both made some great recovery shots. Mark put several tight shots together ending the match in 4 and giving victory to Bromley. A good evening's squash and, hopefully for the visitors, an enjoyable away venue. |
