| Report: | In the first match Ian and Chris had a fine tussle that moved sharply one way and then the other. Chris was the more consistent in the later stages and so won what proved to be a key match. Meanwhile Bob was proving too strong for Tim driving him too often to the back of the court. Peter had hopes of overcoming Mark, for once, but these proved short-lived once Mark found his range for tight lob serves and drops into the nick. I saw nothing of Chris and Kevin's match but Kevin claims he was fortunate to win in three and the score line seems to bear this out. All depended on the splendid combat between Harvey and Brian. This was Divn 1 standard stuff and the result was in doubt almost up to the wire. Bromley thus sneaked by with another 3-2. |
