Report: | First up, Kevin ( standing in from the second team ) against Paul ( hired from Amida ).
Kevin stormed into a 4/0 or even 5/0 lead in the first game, but then Paul remembered Tuesday is squash night, took his roller skates off and won the rest of the match.
On the other court Keith and Matt. Again another false dawn, Keith winning the first game, until Matt decided to take parT, neither player wanting to play tidy squash though.
Ron v Steph. I think Ron said something like, "I won't lose to a girl", and indeed won the first game. Steph then asserted the more natural order of things and got on top.
Martin and Duane: probably the best match of the evening, good squash, winning shots, good retrieving and closer than the score line suggests. But 3/0 to Duane.
Last up, Tom and Mark. Mark decided he liked the court, and proved it by hitting tight down the walls to some perfect lengths which Tom didn't return. Very controlled squash from Mark and another lucky win ( sorry Mark, not true, very deserved ).
So another 0-5 for Bromley, which we expected in this league with all the professionals playing. But we are getting some good games, just wait til we hit division 2 again !! |
