Report

Report:On arrival Bexley discovers that Dulwich don’t have Tim or Jason (Mark was particularly pleased with this) – Good times

Daryl Selby turns up to replace Tim – Bad times

So the match starts with a weakened Dulwich sending out the big gun first.

Selby vs McHarrison, At 5-5 in the first it was finely poised with Daryl struggling with jet lag, unfortunately for McHarrison this only lasted for a game, after a very entertaining 30 mins of squash it was 3-0 to Darryl.
Next up was Chef Will vs the better Matt, another entertaining game with both players starting off at 100mph, this suited Chef as he raced into a 2-0 lead with some excellent volleying, Matt came back to win the third but Chef had too much in the tank and took the 4th to win 3-1, another strong performance from Chef.
Next up Andy vs Steph, there was lots of boasts and drops in this game, unfortunately for Steph, Andy was just that little bit stronger, 3-0 to Andy.
Next up Paul (I only play against Bexley) Taylor vs Captain Slack, Paul was returning from a near fatal back hoovering injury and Slack was returning from a burger eating camping trip. Paul played with his usual flair with Slack retrieving well, in the end Paul had too much for Slack twisting and turning him taking the match 3-1.
Last up was Andy vs Mark, Andy started well taking the first with relative ease, Mark then got into the game and took the second, after a couple of points in the third game there was a change of ball, this then turned the match into a farce as the replacement ball was a rocket, Andy took the third and after a little racket throwing and a stern talking too from new Bexley coach McHarrison Mark slowed the pace and took the next 2 games to salvage some Bexley pride with a 3-2 win.
A good night with food to feed at least half of the population of Dulwich.

Bexley are down to three players for next week’s match (the better Matt is away, Steph is working and Captain Slack is in for cosmetic surgery, apparently he is having the “hack” part of his brain removed, amazing what you can get on the NHS these days) and after some initial calls to find replacements have drawn blanks, have Biggin Hill and Cascades nominated every player in the south east??
