| Report: | 1st on was Brewer/Baker did not see much of this one as it started early. John seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else and Neil was willing to take advantage, but in the end JB pulled it out the bag 3-2 then buggered off!!!
On court 2 Mo/TW, this was quite a tight affair in the 1st game but once Tom got in hisstride there wa only to be one winner.
Ben was always going to be too strong for Malcolm at 2 but, as always, Malcolm made Ben work for evey point.
Next was Charles/Dave Rannard, this was the one that OTH expected to be a 'banker' for the Cascades team. Dave R seemed to confuse Charles at times and moved into a 2-0 lead with Charles dad declaring 'he's giving up, he's giving up!!!!
Not so, Charles was made of sturner stuff and eventually over came a tired Dave 3-2 in a very good game.
Games poised at 2-2 with Stuart and Martin going on to decide who took 2nd place in Blue division. Martin drew first blood stealing the game 10-8, Stuart then proceeded to take the next 2.In the 4th Stuart, clearly suffering from holiday blues, was sunk and dead losing 9-1. 5th and final game Martin was under orders to just work Stuart hard as he was totally sh*gged, which worked as he took a 7-4 lead, then Stuart to his credit worked himself into the ground to pull back and take the 5th 9-7.
Players of the evening, Dave Rannard taking Charles to 5 and Stuart never giving up to finally overcome Martin in the 5th.
A great game, great night which is what Kent squash deserves, well played Cascades |
