Report: | Oh Dear! Cascades put out a weaker team and get taught a well deserved lesson in not counting their chickens!...
First up was Neil "number 1" Baker and Colin "these courts, ball, racket are all wrong" Payne with a very tightly fought match. Didn't get to see all of it because it lasted two matches on the other court but from the sounds of it involved some excellent close squash with Neil being fazed by Colin's reach and style. Good squash though and one of the closest matches of the season left Cascades 1 down.
Next was Ben "118-118" Coleman and Joly "Nice Guy" Head. Although Ben always looked like he had something in reserve, the quality of squash and recovery shots in general was, at times, outstanding. Joly ran out of steam towards the end, but the game looked closer at times than the score would suggest.
Mo "phones4you" Soliman next with Andy "hit it harder" Ward. Some good rallies mixed with missed shots and moments of real flare from both players. In the end Andy proved too strong for Mo, but a good friendly game on both sides.
Finally, Ash "Sicknote" Tomlin and Herman "another boast" Dwet for the match clincher. Unfortunately for Cascades, Ash continues to gain any sort of form and got taken apart by the quality of shots and boasts from Herman. Herman completes a Tonbridge 3 -2 win leaving Ash to consider Crown Green Bowling as his next sport.
Well done Tonbridge and a good nights squash. |
