| Report: | Leon's lions triumph again in a thrilling league r/up clash. Bexley's danny gray got off to a good start going 8-6 up in the 1st before a stroke decision against him got him rattled. It was a stroke but danny threw away 3 quick shots into the tin losing 10/8. still angry he lost 9/6 in the 2nd. After a strong team chat from the rest of the squad he came back and hammered kevin 1/9 3/9. However Kevin is just too clever and is no mug and raced to 8/0. eventually winning 9/2 in the 5th. Jack breen at 3 was too strong for a clever touch player mike collins winning 3-1 with a massive blister on his hand. At 4 a cracking match between ed and Hany, ed winning 3-2 in the end. Hany made more errors than i have ever seen and i am convinced he has energy problems. My son dean at 5 was far too strong for captain Malcolm winning 3-0. Last up and the r/up spot was all on the winner of this string. Nilan patel back from uni against Andy darrington back from starring in shreck 2. Nilan raced to 7-2 before drew pulled back to 7-8 then 8-8 with drew true to form calling 1 and losing it 9-8 nilan. 9-6 Nilan and the r/up spot not looking good for bexley. Drew fought back 5/9 in the 3rd then nilan went down with cramp and lots of lengthy breaks started. Drew went 3-8 up in the 4th when nilan went down again for a very long break. Drew got fed up waiting as he was getting cold and was about to walk off when nilan said he would play on. 3-9 drew and all on the 5th. 2-9 to drew as Nilan was in all sorts of trouble with cramp. This last match ended at 10.50pm. A good win for the young Bexley team and the r/up spot pipping PL by 1 point. Nice meal and banter followed and we left at 11.50pm a very late but good night. |
