| Report: | This was another must win match for Bromley CC that went all wrong. Mike looked for quite a while as if he would get us off to a great start but Garth proved too strong at the end. The second game of Phil's match proved to be critical as he came back from 5/8 to win to go up two up and then wrapped up the 3rd mainly thanks to a succession of serves that Mike failed to return. Steve had a real battle with his wide swinging opponent but did not in any way use this as an excuse for his loss. Again the second game which Steve lost 10/8 proved vital. Dan also lost the second game of his match 10/8 and ultimately the match to a very quick and fit Richard. Al won at 5 playing his usual mix of imperious winners and casual errors. Fortunately more winners than losers against a hard hitting Mark.
So after yet another 3/2 loss it looks like relegation for Bromley CC III who have had to play all of the second half of the seaon without their regular No.1 James, due to injury. We all wish him a speedy recovery. |
