Report: | If this was a Friends episode it would be ‘The one where Will overcame his female phobia’. The Bexley Boys always take some beating, especially when they draft in a girl at the tail end to unsettle Will.
Duane had endured a journey so long from out Kent that there was no time for a kip in the car before the match. However, it was PG who was a little sluggish out of the blocks, eventually edging the first 10/8 before getting into his (rather short) stride to ease home in three.
If PG had been sluggish, then Jason hadn’t started his engine while Matt revved his and raced through to take the first in 4.75 minutes. However, any thoughts of an upset were quickly washed away as Jason picked up the pace, got to the ball and smash, bang, walloped his way to a win in four.
Meanwhile the old Will was back, and with a vengeance after a couple of subdued weeks, and his enthusiasm was not even dampened by the thought of being run around the court by Steph. In fact, he returned the favour moving the ball around quite nicely and putting Steph in to corners of the courts she wasn’t keen on even when a full-time player. Showing none of his usual good manners in letting the lady win, he won in straight games.
Tucker was clearly in no mood to mess about given his responsibilities in the kitchen. Having taken on an Italian chef to knock up the lasagne, and fought his was through the rush hour crowds with the pasta feast accompanied by his JD, his ice-hockey mate & body guard, he seemed more worried about the fact that the gas oven heated from the top rather than the bottom as he had been instructed. However, a quick phone call to his culinary expert and with mind at ease set about the task of beating Matt, which he did in three.
Last on was Tim v Ben Act 475 for the season. As always the game see sawed backwards and forwards. Ben found the nick on all walls, often intentionally but, luckily for Tim, he also found the tin unintentionally! Tim went 2-up, Ben bounced back and led 10-8 in fourth to take it to the wire, but Tim toiled and triumphed.
Once again, the food was exceptional, which is definitely a benefit of outsourcing! The only disappointment that the Italian cook had no time in her diary to pop along receive the praise personally.
