Report

Report:With the nationals stealing a few players from both teams, new business' taking up valuable time and parents evening happening, Biggin Hill was a bit quiter than normal on a Tuesday night. With the courts recently sanded both B Hill teams donned their skates and slid around chasing that little black ball.

Dean, bless his little cotton socks has been battling away this season whilst suffering from injuries. He tried hard but is lacking in match fitness, and when playing the thoroughbred that is a recipe for disaster. Iain continues to look more athletic every week. Not a good sign for anyone who comes across his path in the future!

John started quite well in our match. He took advantage of my lack of speed, concentration, lack of practise and general poor play to take the opening game. At which point I wished I had stayed at home and watched Hollyoaks on e4! The match after that was scrappy with a few long chats involved whilst one of the players caught their breath (sorry about that John). Although one positive did come out of the game; I lobbed John with a serve that even when jumping he couldn't reach!

Lee and Rory had the best game of the night. Rory has come on leaps and bounds this year but his wilily 'old' coach had too much experience and know how about him. Rory was clearly tired from the nationals though to be fair. After getting knocked out early in qualifying, and earning not enough money for a train ticket home, he had spent all day walking back down the M1 thumbing for a lift. Shame Farzan doesn't play for us this season, he could have run the 300 mile round trip, collected Rory and brought him back and simply put it down as a warm up for his match.

Later on Rory got his advantage over Lee on the darts board whilst Higgins and I had a few jars and talked about squash (this after failing to complete the crossword in the paper).

Two funny things for night:
1) Rory apparently looks cute according to Tiffany
2) Dean is not a girl
